Our Children 1982 - 1987

1982 - 1987

In October 1982 our 1st son Sean was born. Nathan wanted him to have his middle name Anthony, which we later found out when we got married that it was not his middle name after all. Nathan thought that his name was Nathan Anthony and in fact it was Junior Nathan. So we ended up with our son having the initials SAD. We've laughed about it many times. We lived in a bedsit in Penwortham Road, South Croydon.

December 1984 our second son Lewis Nathan was born. Nathan was asleep at home looking after Sean when Lewis arrived in the middle of the night. I can remember calling him from the hospital payphone to tell him that he had another son, it took a while to wake him up. We were living in a flat in Partridge Knoll in Purley.

June 1987 our third son Ryan Mitchell was born, Nathan arrived late to the hospital and missed the birth. We were still living in Partridge Knoll at the time.

Nathan was a fantastic dad and a great role model and provider. Hardworking and always put his family first.

Nathan was a patient father who very rarely raised his voice or got angry. He did get better with changing nappies and night feeds once Ryan arrived. In fact he was so good at it, Ryan wanted Daddy to do everything for him, not mummy.

Nathan very rarely cooked but when Terri went to university he did master three meals...frozen pizza, egg and chips although these usually arrived on the plate separately and cold. He could also make pasta carbonara. We all remember Nathan doing the washing up with his dub style reggae blasting out from the kitchen and him hitting the pots and pans with anything he could to drum along to the beat.

I do have to mention the youngsters that were special to us over the years... Shelley, we could have easily taken her in as our own aged 4 and she has remained as our special one to date.

Oliver, Ade and Mehmet ....all son's number 4 and special to us.
